City infrastructure improvement projects

(LAWRENCE, KS) - Phase three of overlay and curb repair projects will begin
the week of August 25.  Traffic will be maintained in the areas as the curb
is removed, however, delays can be expected. Work will begin on Emerald
Drive from 19th Terrace to 21st Street; 9th Street from Iowa to Rockledge; N
Iowa from Princeton Avenue to Peterson Road; Rockledge from 9th Street to
Yale Avenue and 9th Street Terrace to Yale Avenue intersection.

On going City infrastructure improvement projects for the week of August 25
include:

Storm sewer improvements
21st St., Massachusetts St. to Barker, open to through traffic

21st St., Massachusetts to Kentucky, closed, completed approximately
September 5, weather permitting

Kentucky, closed, 20th St. to 22nd St.

Vermont, closed, 20th St. to 22nd St.

Rhode Island, 20th St. to 22nd St., open to through traffic

27th St., Belle Haven to Louisiana, closed until approximately August 29
(date extended), weather permitting

Line installation
13th Street, Louisiana to Oread, westbound traffic only

Ohio Street, north of Dakota St., completed approximately August 30, weather
permitting

Mill and overlay and curb repair
North 3rd St., completed

Clinton Parkway, Crossgate to Wakarusa, narrowed to one lane, completed by
approximately August 29, weather permitting

Emerald Drive, 19th Terr. to 21st St., traffic interruptions

9th Street, Iowa to Rockledge, traffic interruptions

N Iowa, Princeton Avenue to Peterson Road, traffic interruptions

Rockledge, 9th St. to Yale Ave., traffic interruptions

9th St. Terr. to Yale Ave. intersection, traffic interruptions

Intersection improvements
6th Street, intersection of Kasold Dr., reduced to one lane in each
direction completed approximately December 31, weather permitting

Chip seal
Western Hills neighborhood, completed

Anderson Acres neighborhood, completed

12th Street, Pennsylvania to Haskell Avenue, completed

Garfield Street, completed

Delaware, 13th Street to 14th Street, completed

22nd Street, west of Haskell Avenue, completed

Pennsylvania north and south of Forrest, completed

Delaware north and south of Forrest, completed

Maple, 3rd Street to 7th Street, completed

31st center islands, completed
