City infrastructure improvement projects
(LAWRENCE, KS) - Jayhawk Boulevard is open to through traffic both
directions. Traffic on 13th Street from Oread to Louisiana remains
restricted to westbound traffic.
Chip seal projects will take place next week in Western Hills, Anderson
Acres, and on the following streets; 12th Street from Pennsylvania to
Haskell Avenue, Garfield Street, Delaware from 13th Street to 14th Street,
22nd Street, west of Haskell Avenue, Pennsylvania north and south of
Forrest, Delaware north and south of Forrest, Maple from 3rd Street to 7th
Street and the center lanes on 31st Street from Ousdahl south to end of
curbs.
The chip seal projects temporarily remove on street parking and will require
short-term lane closures during application. The projects should be
completed by August 22, weather permitting.
On going City infrastructure improvement projects for the week of August 18
include:
Storm sewer improvements
21st St., closed, Massachusetts St. to Barker and Massachusetts to Kentucky,
completed approximately August 22 (date extended), weather permitting
Kentucky, closed, 20th St. to 22nd St.
Vermont, closed from 20th St. to 22nd St.
Rhode Island, 20th St. to 22nd St., closed to through traffic, completed
approximately August 22 (date extended), weather permitting
27th St., Belle Haven to Louisiana, closed until approximately August 22,
weather permitting
Line installation
Jayhawk Blvd., open to through traffic, both directions
13th Street, Louisiana to Oread, westbound traffic only
Ohio Street, north of Dakota Street, completed approximately August 30,
weather permitting
Mill and overlay and curb repair
North 3rd St., Industrial Ln. north to the City limits, completed on August
15
Clinton Parkway, Crossgate to Wakarusa, narrowed to one lane, completed by
approximately August 29 (date extended), weather permitting
Intersection improvements
6th Street, intersection of Kasold Drive, reduced to one lane in each
direction completed approximately December 31, weather permitting
Chip seal
Western Hills neighborhood, restricted on street parking and short-term lane
closures, complete August 22, weather permitting
Anderson Acres neighborhood, restricted on street parking and short-term
lane closures, complete August 22, weather permitting
12th Street, Pennsylvania to Haskell Avenue, restricted on street parking
