Wildgen Credentialed by Key International Local Government Management
Association

(Washington, D.C.) - Mike Wildgen, City Manager of Lawrence, Kan,
recently received the International City/County Management Association
(ICMA)'s Credentialed Manager designation.  Mr. Wildgen is one of a
group of 282 local government management professionals to be
credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

To be credentialed by ICMA, a member must have significant experience as
a senior management executive in local government, have earned a degree
in public administration or a related filed, and demonstrated a
commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and
professional development.

Mike Wildgen is qualified by more than 30 years of professional local
government executive experience.  Prior to his coming to Lawrence, he
worked in assistant management positions in Kansas City, Mo., and
Olathe.  In 1974, he joined the City staff as assistant city manager.
He was promoted to City Manager in April 1990.
