21st Street Storm water project construction progresses; Transit System
reroutes necessary
(LAWRENCE, KS) - Construction is progressing on the storm water
improvement project in the area of 21st Street and Ousdahl. Contractors
will be closing Ousdahl today from 19th St to 21st St. The second street
closure scheduled for today is 21st St from Stewart Ave to Ousdahl. The
road closures should last for approximately two weeks, weather
permitting. Drivers are asked to detour on Naismith Dr.
Lawrence Transit System will reroute buses around construction along
Ousdahl beginning today. Route 8 is being rerouted as follows for
approximately two weeks or until Ousdahl is reopened. Regular route 8
will travel on Ousdahl then using 22nd St, to Naismith and continuing to
19th and then using 19th to get back on the regular route. The
southbound trip will follow the same revision.
Riders who normally accessed the "T" along Ousdahl between 19th St and
21st St are asked to now wait along Naismith, 19th St or 22nd St.
Transit drivers can provide detailed information about the re-route to
riders and assistance in determining the routes to be used by riders.
