New Member Sought for City Recycling and Resource Conservation Advisory
Board
(Lawrence, Kansas) - The City of Lawrence Recycling and Resource
Conservation Advisory Board is soliciting interest from the community to
fill one board member position beginning immediately. The term of this
board position is one year in length ending at December 31, 2003.
The Board advises city officials on the promotion and implementation of
public and private resource conservation and recycling efforts.
Established in 1989, the board's mission is supporting, strengthening
and expanding recycling and resource conservation activities and
programs in the community.
The Mayor, with the advice and consent of the Lawrence City Commission,
appoints a 10-member board that serves as a representative body for the
community. Board meetings are the second Wednesday of each month from
4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Solid Waste Annex North Facility, 320 N.E.
Industrial Lane.
