Working with the CCC

The following guidelines exist for engaging the Community Cooperation Committee’s participation (Updated 8-27-07): Organizations or community groups wishing to work with the CCC should contact the Chair of the Community Cooperation Committee by letter to:

Sara L. Taliaferro
Chair, Community Cooperation Committee
P.O. Box 522
Lawrence, KS 66044

The letter should include:

  1. The name of the individual or organization, including contact information (mailing address, phone numbers, E-mail address).
  2. An explanation of the scope of the project or concern.
  3. A statement of impact on the individual or organization.
  4. Proposed ideas for resolution of the project or concern.
  5. Desired outcomes of the project or concern. Organizations, community groups, or community members wanting more informal advice or opinions can contact the CCC Chair at the above address (or via E-mail through website?) and be placed on the agenda of the next monthly meeting, as scheduling allows.

Procedure for CCC Participation:

  1. Once a letter has been received by the chair of the CCC, an acknowledgement letter will be sent to the contact person within ten business days.
  2. The board, executive director, officers, and/or elected representatives of the organization will be requested to meet with the CCC chair and committee representatives to outline an action plan and timetable for the project or conflict resolution process within two months of the date on the acknowledgement letter.
  3. At the full meeting, all present would clarify what role the CCC is to play in the process.
  4. The following elements would need to be included in the action plan:
  • Names and contact information of all stakeholders.
  • List of concerns from individual or organization making the request to CCC.
  • List of possible solutions or ideas for resolution for each concern.
  • Action items addressing possible solutions agreed upon by all stakeholders.
  • Timetable for CCC involvement, i.e., milestones to be completed.
  • Communication plan for reporting outcome to stakeholders/community.
  • Method of cataloging requests from individuals and community.
  • Review plan to assess process, including satisfaction surveys for all stakeholders.
