"T" Stickers
|
The Lawrence Transit System will offer KU students who purchase a KU on Wheels bus pass the opportunity to purchase a "T" sticker, adding access to the "T" for a twenty-five dollar fee. "Students will receive at least three benefits from purchasing a "T" sticker; expanded routes going more places in the community, transportation during school breaks and Saturday operation," explains Karin Rexroad, public transit administrator, Lawrence Transit System. Similar to efforts in other university towns, an unlimited access program provides students access to the existing public transportation system. This year's pilot program could be a first step toward providing a seamless service to students. Presented by the Public Transit Advisory Committee, the offer is poised to increase ridership on the Lawrence Transit System's fixed routes and to provide additional transportation for KU Students. Transit stickers are available throughout the school year at the Student Union Activities office, 4th floor of the Kansas Union. For more information, call the SUA Office, (785) 864-7469. |
