Letters to Citizens

Dear Citizens;

I consider it a privilege to serve on the Lawrence City Commission and to have served as your Mayor during this past year.

The City Commission and all city employees have the strongest commitment to provide excellent city services which enhance our quality of life and build a better future for our community. Whether planting a new tree in a park, plowing snow from a road, or planning a new neighborhood development, your city government seeks to wisely invest the tax dollars you provide.

This annual report highlights examples of progress in our community and points toward an even brighter, better future for Lawrence. On behalf of the City Commission, I am proud to present the City of Lawrence 2006 Annual Report.

Sincerely,

Dear Lawrence Citizens;

Everyday, over 750 city employees report to work to help make Lawrence a great place to live. With a budget of more than $137.5 million, we are improving city services, strengthening our neighborhoods, and planning for the future.

My goal has been to instill the four principles of effectiveness, efficiency, innovation and leadership into every aspect of city government.

In your hands, you hold our first ever citywide annual report. For more detailed information, we encourage you to visit our website: www.lawrenceks.org. On behalf of all your city employees, I would like to say that it is an honor to work for you each and every day.

Sincere regards,
